FARMINGTON – Parents and guardians of schoolchildren in SAD 9 will see an increase in breakfast and lunch prices when the opening of school rolls around in late August.
SAD 9 directors voted recently to increase student full-paid and adult meal prices due to rising costs of food.
Breakfast prices have increased from 70 cents to $1 at elementary schools for grades kindergarten through six and lunch prices at that level have risen from $1.45 to $1.75.
At the middle and high schools for grades seven through 12, the breakfast prices have increased from 80 cents to a $1.15 and $1.70 to $2 for lunch.
Adult meals were increased from $3.25 to $3.75.
Reduced lunch and breakfast prices will stay the same at 40 cents and 30 cents, respectively.
