FARMINGTON – Seventeen people were indicted Tuesday by a Franklin County grand jury on a total of 35 charges.
Among them was a man accused of stealing two trucks in May, and three people accused of burglaries involving firearms in the South Strong Road area.
James Burnell, 35, also known as James Hodges, with addresses in Lewiston, Jay and Livermore Falls, was indicted on one count each of aggravated criminal mischief, unauthorized use of property, criminal trespass and violation of conditions of release.
Burnell has been held on $5,000 cash bail after he was accused of driving a Verso Paper dump truck out of the mill’s yard with the bed raised, knocking down utility lines. Power was out throughout Jay, Dixfield and Canton for a time.
A second truck owned by Specialty Minerals Inc. was found in a creek on Verso Paper’s Androscoggin Mill property.
Burnell remains at the Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington.
Three people were arrested in May on charges of burglary and theft at homes on South Strong, Frederick and Church Hill roads. Stolen guns were recovered from people who had purchased them not knowing they were stolen.
Indicted are:
Glendon Ladd, 19, Strong, on three felony counts of burglary and three felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking from incidents taking place from April 15 to April 24.
Haley Heather, 21, Avon, on one felony count of receiving stolen property.
Jonathan Parker, 20, Phillips, on two felony counts of receiving stolen property.
Bail for each was set at $5,000 cash for each count of felony burglary and theft.
In another case, Patrick Ridley, 20, Jay, was indicted on one count each of theft by unauthorized taking, forgery and misuse of identification stemming from the use of stolen credit card numbers on six occasions between Dec. 17, 2007, and Jan. 3 to get more than $2,700.
Ridley was arrested in April and was released on $250 cash bail the same day from the Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington.
Others indicted are:
John Bachelder, 32, Phillips, on a count of driving after revocation on April 30.
Luchen Bowie, 18, Carthage, on counts of terrorizing and discharging a firearm near a dwelling on May 24.
Christopher Crandall, 21, Farmington, on a count of aggravated criminal mischief on May 8. Crandall was also indicted on counts of burglary and theft by unauthorized taking on May 9.
Ryan Curtis, 28, Jay, on counts of criminal driving under the influence and driving beyond license on June 6.
Roy Elliott, 40, Chesterville, on a count of domestic violence terrorizing on June 15.
Randy Jo Fretz, 35, Wilton, on a count of driving after revocation on April 2.
Michael O’Neill, 49, Farmington, on counts of criminal driving under the influence and driving beyond license condition on March 29.
Jacquelynne Rivers, 18, Stratton, on a count of theft by unauthorized taking on March 6.
Brandon Ryder, 25, Wilton, on a count of unlawful possession of schedule drugs on Jan. 30.
Hope Stenson, 40, Farmington, on a count of theft by unauthorized taking on March 12.
Stenson was also indicted on counts of theft by unauthorized taking and violation condition of release on June 12.
Zachary Webber, 26, Chesterville, on a count of driving after revocation on April 4.
Amanda Wilcox, 26, Avon, on a count of tampering with a witness or informant on April 14.
