GREENWOOD – A 39-year-old Greenwood man remained behind bars on Wednesday evening after being accused of threatening a 47-year-old woman with a shotgun.

Richard A. Fox, of Greenwood Road, was charged with Class C domestic violence terrorizing and criminal threatening and Class D domestic assault.

According to a report by Trooper Paul Casey of the Maine State Police, Fox assaulted the woman during a confrontation on Saturday night and fired a shot over the roof of the residence. Fox was arrested without incident after the woman locked herself in the residence.

Casey stated that a shotgun with a spent shell was found in a pickup truck on the property, and a live round was found in Casey’s pants pocket.

Casey’s bail was initially set at $10,000 then reduced to $5,000 after his initial appearance in court on July 14.
