LEWISTON – Yvonne M. Gagnon, 94, formerly of 104 Lincoln St., Lewiston, died Wednesday, July 16, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the last three years.

She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 8, 1913, the daughter of Edmond and Anna Brisson Verville. Educated in local schools, she married Adelard Gagnon in 1937. He passed away in 1964. She spent some 50 years working as a drawing-in person in weave room No. 5 of the Bates Mill, retiring in 1979.

She was always baking things, and loved feeding her family and friends. No one could visit her and leave without a dozen fresh baked cookies or an apple pie. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, and after the church closed she joined Holy Family Parish.

The last of 13 brothers and sisters, she is survived by two daughters, Jeannine and husband, Maurice Turcotte Jr., of Lewiston and Claire Therrien of Poland; a son, Paul of Edgecomb; 10 grandchildren, Rick, Lynne, Mike, Greg and Brian Turcotte, Robyn Begin, Denise LaRoche, Celine Henderson, Michelle Greenberg and Monique Parish; and 13 great-grandchildren, Rae Lynn, Renee, Chelsey, Brett and Jordan Turcotte, Makayla and Cameron Begin, Sarah and Brett Henderson, Gabriel, Michael and Andrew Greenberg and Caleb Parish.
