FARMINGTON – A Vermont man, Christopher Cochran, 28, of North Wolcott, flipped his Ford Ranger truck just before noon Thursday on Farmington Falls Road after he fell asleep and rear-ended another truck.
Cochran was following a Ford pickup driven by Donald Foster, 65, of Gilbert, Ariz., west on routes 2 and 27, said Farmington Police officer Michael Adcock. After the vehicle flipped on to its side, it slid about 150 feet, he said. The accident happened in front of Hammond Lumber.
Cochran was not hurt.
While investigating the crash, police learned that Cochran was driving without a license. He was arrested on charges of driving without a license and illegally attaching plates, Adcock said.
Foster’s wife, Charlene, 55, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar Ambulance. She was treated and released, according to a hospital representative.
Cochran’s truck was totaled and towed from the scene. Foster’s pickup had about $1,200 in damage, Adcock said.
