MECHANIC FALLS – The winners of the annual Bruce M. Whittier Scholarship were recently announced, with two Poland Regional High School seniors each receiving a $1,000 award.

Stephen Goss is the son of Walter and Sharon Goss of Mechanic Falls. He will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology studying computer engineering.

Whitney Elston will be attending the University of Maine at Farmington studying business economics. She is the daughter of Karen Miller of Mechanic Falls.

The scholarship will be available annually to high school seniors graduating from the Poland Regional High School on an application basis.
