Regina Joseph cleans the dirt from her shoes after working in the garden at Packard-Littlefield Farm in Lisbon on Friday. Joseph is a native of Sudan and is one 40 farmers who grow their own organic food on 12 acres of leased land through the New American Sustainable Agriculture Project. Farmers from Guatemala, Somalia and Sudan harvest the food for themselves and for farm markets in Lewiston and Portland. Over 100 farms throughout Maine will be open to the public Sunday for Open Farm Day. Go to www.getrealmaine.com to search for participating farms.
