LEWISTON – Leo (Warchalowski) Szynkiewicz, 81, of Easy Street, Litchfield, died Thursday, July 17, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family at his side.

Leo was born in Utica, N.Y., on Aug. 27, 1926, a son to the late Constantine and Mary (Bonk) Szynkiewicz. He was educated in the Sabattus school system.

Leo served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was co-owner of Warchalowski Lumber.

He married the love of his life, Lorraine (Goss) on June 20, 1975.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 158. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots every chance he got.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lorraine, of Litchfield; two stepsons, John Morgan II of Auburn, and Winston Morgan and his wife, Shirley, of Sabattus; his stepdaughter-in-law Claire Morgan of Lewiston; two grandsons, Jason Morgan and his wife, Krista, of Texas, and Nicholas Morgan and his wife, Mary, of Lewiston; two great-grandsons, Ezra Morgan Thoma and Spencer Morgan; and a foster nephew, Richard Warchalowski.

He was predeceased by a stepson, Tom Morgan; and two foster brothers, Henry and Leapold Warchalowski.
