AUBURN – Mildred M. Roy, 95, of 17 General Turner Hill Road, Turner, died Wednesday, July 16, at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Born in Sheridan on March 17, 1913, she was the daughter of Edward and Claire Labbe Cote. Educated locally, she was employed for over 24 years as a rug hooker at the Priscilla Rug Factory in Turner.

She was married to Adrien Roy, who passed away in 1985.

A member of St. Philip’s Parish, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, hand-hooking rugs, and gardening, especially flowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucille and husband Ross Rankin of Harborside, and Alice Lavoie of Turner; a sister, Cecile Wiladeski of Burlington, Conn.; six grandchildren, Edward and Debbie Rankin, and Mark, Philippe, Roy and Heidi Lavoie; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Leo Cote; a sister, Therese Rene; and a grandson, Scott Lavoie.

Mildred’s family would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor, especially the staffs of Res. Care 1 and Res. Care A, and to the staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, for all the loving care they gave her.
