PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Central Maine Power says it has restored electricity to all but about 20 customers who were left in the dark as a result of Friday’s fierce thunderstorms.

But utility crews are also working to bring back service to roughly 300 customers off line because of storms that swept through the region Saturday. Most of those outages are in the Brunswick and Alfred service areas.

About 22,000 homes and businesses were without service during the peak of the storms Friday night.

CMP called in additional crews and has been working through the weekend to repair downed lines.
