TOPSHAM – Desneige L. Bernier, 93, of Cleave Street, Topsham, died Friday, July 18, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born in Lisbon, July 6, 1915, a daughter to Florian and Delia (Hamel) Pinette. She was educated at St. Johns Catholic School. She was a weaver at Cabot Mill and Worumbo Mill. She married Roland Bernier on May 25, 1936, and he predeceased her in 1979. She was a member of St. Andrews Church, Third Order of Mary, and Merry Meeters. She enjoyed needlepoint, gardening and loved baseball. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at Pejepscot Day School for many years.
She leaves a daughter, Arlene Stack of Topsham; three sons, Roger Bernier and his wife, Eva Mae, of West Gardiner, Dennis Bernier and his wife, Debbie, of South Carolina, and Rene Bernier and his wife, Stephanie, of Topsham; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a grandchild, Jeff Bernier; a sister, Eva Lachance; and four brothers, Alphonse, Lucien, Raymond and Roger.
