LEWISTON – A community meeting on domestic violence is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Community Center, 57 Birch St.

The meeting is sponsored by the Maine Department of Public Safety and the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project. Public Safety Commissioner Anne Jordan and her staff will be hosting the meeting, which is intended to discuss the impact of domestic violence on families.

It is one of several meetings being held across the state.

, including one Wednesday in Augusta, and meetings in Bangor, Belfast, Wells and Machias next month. Jordan hosted similar meetings earlier this month in Skowhegan and last month in Boothbay Harbor.
