NEW GLOUCESTER – Dan McGoff, 58, of New Gloucester, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, July 20.
He was born in Plymouth, N.H., on June 18, 1950, the son of the late Albert J. McGoff and Dora E. Komulainen-Burnett. He was educated in Oxford schools and was a specialist in the U.S. Army, where he served two tours in Vietnam.
He was employed with the Maine Turnpike Authority for 35 years. He took great pride and joy in his work and tenure.
He married Deborah Allie in New Gloucester on Dec. 24, 1982.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, visiting lighthouses throughout Maine, and spending time with friends and family. He had a very strong work ethic and a giving heart. His smile was genuine, along with his character and will greatly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, of New Gloucester; two daughters, Terri McGoff and Stacey Strout, of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Samantha, Tayla and Meagan Strout of Lewiston; and many siblings.
