LISBON FALLS – Laura M. Michel, 88, of Summer Street, Lisbon Falls, formerly of Washington Avenue, Auburn, died Sunday, July 20, at her home.

She was born in Lewiston, March 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Willie and Ozeline (Olivier) Binette. She married the love of her life, Emile Michel on Oct. 12, 1946. He predeceased her in 1995.

Her main job was being a mother to her children, but she did work for the South Portland Shipyard during World War II and later worked for many years at General Electric.

She was a previous member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed helping others, crafts, sewing, making quilts, collecting glass shoes and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves three sons, Raymond Michel and his wife, Sonia, of Virginia, Daniel Michel and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Lisbon Falls and David Michel and his wife, Lana, of Auburn; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Michel of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Binette of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Ronald and Roger Michel; four sisters, Liane Grenier, Mignonne Brisson, Ona Langlais and Irene Landry; and three brothers, Ralph, George and Albert Binette.
