FARMINGTON – Charles J. Preston Jr., 93, a lifelong resident of Wilton, died Thursday, July 24, at Sandy River Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1914, in Wilton, the son of Charles J. Sr. and Emma C. (Vining) Preston and attended the Wilton schools.

On Nov. 20, 1954, he married the former Mary Emma Ellsworth in Kennebunk. He worked for Larabee’s Clothing Store for men and also for Preston Motors. He was a member of the East Wilton Union Church and a member of the Sawyer Memorial.

He is survived by his brother-in-law John A. Ellsworth of Kennebunk; and dear friend, Kathleen Jacobs.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary in 2005.
