YARMOUTH – Pauline Brule Tartre, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, at the Brentwood Nursing Home.

She was born at home in Auburn on Dec. 18, 1925, the daughter of William and Lydia Beauchesne Brule. She attended school at St. Louis in New Auburn and graduated from the Ave Maria Academy of Sabattus.

She was married to Edmund R. Tartre of Lewiston on July 5, 1981. They spent many years together and loved to travel, loved sports, and attended the Super Bowl in California. Florida vacations were a real joy to them.

She also enjoyed playing cards, gambling, and taking long drives. She lovingly attended to Edmund’s needs during his final illness, and he passed away on Sept. 10, 1995.

She is survived by her two daughters, Anita M. Gagne of Leeds and Patricia Joyner of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Yvette “Nickey” Tartre of Falmouth and Isabel and her husband, Edgar Bonneau, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by two children, Jacqueline and Norman, who suffered from cystic fibrosis and passed within three months of each other.
