AUBURN – Vernon R. Kennedy, 71, a resident of Turner, died Thursday, July 24, at the Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

He was born on March 26, 1937, in Boston, Mass., and attended the schools in Boston. He worked at Able Television in Roxbury, Mass., as a television repairman. He moved to Turner after his retirement, living on Route 4 in his rose and raspberry colored house. He was a handyman and enjoyed fixing anything. He was a member of the Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore. He enjoyed studying scripture and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by a daughter, Verna Rettagliati and her husband, Aldo, of Lynn, Mass.; a son, Sean Kennedy of Turner; two grandsons, Paul and Marc Kenney; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Kennedy.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Kennedy in 1998; and a sister, Arlene Kennedy in 1995.
