AUBURN – Cecile G. Dubreuil, 78, of Lewiston, went to the Lord on July 24, with her loving family by her side, after a long, courageous battle with heart disease.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1930, in Lewiston, the daughter of Alfred (Freddy) and Rezia (Grenier) Robitaille. She was educated in Lewiston schools. She married the love of her life, Paul Dubreuil on June 20, 1953, at Holy Cross Church. Together they shared 55 years of love and marriage and enjoyed raising their four children.
The greatest joy in her life was her family. She loved family gatherings and especially cherished the Christmas seasons. She was a remarkable seamstress and brilliant needleworker. The masterpieces she created through needlepoint and embroidery are truly a site to behold and are treasured by all family members. She was known to spend a few years working on just one piece. She was a wonderful cook and found joy in entertaining on a regular basis.
The couple spent eight winters in Florida. They loved to dance, play cards, dine out and spend time with family and friends.
She worked as the secretary for two Lewiston mayors after graduating from high school. She also worked for Morin’s Bridal World and worked out of the home as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was a devoted member of Holy Family Church. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality for countless years and was honored as “Sodalist of the Year” in 1987. She was a eucharistic minister for more than 20 years. She loved visiting and bringing God’s love to the “shut-ins” of the church. She was a member of Marchands De Bonheur, La Survivance Francaise and Holy Cross Seniors. She was an honest, generous and courageous woman who brought love and laughter to all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Paul of Lewiston; two sons, Marc Dubreuil and his wife, Diane, of New Milford, Conn., and Richard Dubreuil and his wife, Jan, of Longview, Texas; two daughters, Ann Dubreuil of Berwick and Michelle Dubreuil of Tolland, Conn.; one sister, Lorraine Rudder and her husband, Thomas; two brothers, Noel Robitaille and Raymond Robitaille and his wife, Connie; two grandchildren, Maureen Dubreuil and her husband, Logan and Shaun Dubreuil; a sister-in-law, Rose McCloskey; as well as many nieces and nephews and their spouses and their children and spouses.
