LEWISTON – Henry L. Raymond Sr., 74, of 250 Bates St., Lewiston, passed on July 24, at home, with his family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and he is now at home with his Lord.
He was born in Lewiston, April 17, 1934, the son of Arthur Raymond Sr. and Antoinette (Sirois) Levasseur. He attended Lewiston schools and proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1959.
He retired from Morrison and Sylvester in 1997. Prior to his illness, he was an active bowler with the L-A Seniors and K of C 106 League and was a golfer with the Holy Family Senior League.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Lorraine (Poulin); seven children, Debbie Paradis and companion, Abukar Idris, of Auburn, Cyndi Faucher and husband, Dan, of Wales, Brenda Geoffroy and husband, Jim, of Monmouth, Henry Raymond Jr. (Butch) and wife, Melissa, Ann Nault and husband, John, and Mike Raymond and wife, Maria, all of Sabattus and Becky Raymond of Buxton; 13 grandchildren, Melissa Grant, Jason Paradis, Derek and Craig Bourgoin, Daniel Brannigan, Alexis Faucher, Anya and Scott Geoffroy, Randy and Stacy Nault, April Smith, Adam McCrater and Kyle Williams; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Raymond Jr. of Lewiston; two sisters, Shirley Cozensa of Florida, and Anita Stone of Lewiston; mother-in-law, Judith Poulin of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends and his dog, Katie.
He was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, Marcel Levasseur; his father-in-law, H. George Poulin; and a son-in-law, Norman Paradis.
His family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Androscoggin Hospice Care for their loving care and support, especially to his aide, Mary Lacroix, his nurse, Karen Bourgoin and the social worker, Theresa Beaudette.
