JAY – Anthony Joseph Doiron, 93, a longtime resident of Jay, died Sunday, July 27, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on July 25, 1915, in New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Philias and Lucie (Barriault) Doiron and attended the schools of Jay. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

On May 24, 1946, he married Lena I. Ouellette at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She passed away in 1984. Tony worked at International Paper Co. in Jay for 44 years. He was a member of IP Quarter Century Club, VFW Frank L. Mitchell Post 3335, Lane-Dube Amvets, Post 33 and the Hillside Sports Club in Jay.

He is survived by a son, Thomas C. Doiron and his companion, Ivy Harding, of Canton and Weld; five grandchildren, Andrew Doiron and his wife, Stephanie, of Brookline, Mass., Aaron Doiron and his companion, Terrie Laughlin, of Farmington, Amber Doiron of East Wilton, Alyson Knox and her husband, Rusty, of East Wilton and Autumn Doiron of East Wilton; great-grandchildren, Amelia Doiron, Alena Knox and Alexis Knox; a sister, Marie Henry of Livermore Falls; a brother, George Doiron and his wife, Fern, of Jay; and a nephew, Norman Ouellette and his wife, Barbara, of Jay.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Louise Doiron; four brothers, Peter Doiron, Steve Doiron, Camille Doiron and infant Norman; and three sisters, Alice Fournier, Rose Frenette and infant; Louise Doiron.
