LEWISTON – Helen T. Moran, 70, a resident of First Street, Lewiston, died Saturday, July 26, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 31, 1937, the son of James and Wilhem (Fortier) Tracy. From 1941 until 1951, she resided at St. Joseph’s Orphanage and graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1955.

In 1956, she graduated from the Pratt Diagnostic Clinic as a lab technician. She then worked in North Hampton, Mass., and then worked in Holyoke, Mass., at the Cooley Dickenson Hospital.

She was the wife of Michael Moran, who died on July 3, 2007. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church. She was an avid reader. She loved politics, basketball, especially the Boston Celtics, and she was known for her wonderful sense of humor. To her, family always came first.

Survivors include three sons, Michael and his wife, Kendall Moran, of Cos Cob, Conn., James and his wife, Barbara Moran, and John Moran, all of Lewiston; one daughter, Patricia Pastore of Lewiston; one sister, Neolia Gagne of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Ernie, Brian, Anthony, Sean, Teresa, Bailey. Alisson and Ashlynn.
