As an avid and daily reader of the Sun Journal, and a rabid racing fan, I had to laugh when I read Kevin Mills’ articles July 22.

The place where the first two cars of any given race sit is the pole, not “poll.” As in North, South, fishing, or even Pole Warczyk (a fellow driver in the TD Banknorth 250 – Joey Jr.).

Two of the three articles refer to the pole position as “poll,” – eight times altogether.

Does anybody proofread anymore?

Perhaps Mills should talk to people on the street and take a “poll” of how many of them noticed and found it as amusing as I did.

Nothing personal, just funny stuff.
