LEWISTON – There will be a domestic violence awareness workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at the B-Street Community Center, 57 Birch St.

Lana Whittemore, Androscoggin County educator from the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project, will speak. She will talk about warning signs, how to respond to suspected abuse, what to do if you’re a victim and how police respond to calls for help.

The event is hosted by the Downtown Community Action Group in partnership with Empower Lewiston.
