LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Sister Mary Timothy, O.P. was held Tuesday at Holy Cross Church after prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Greenleaf celebrated the Mass and was concelebrated by the Rev. Odo Recker assisted by Brother Irenee Richard, O.P. Sister Claire Descoteux, O.P. and Dolores Cyr, O.P. placed the burial pall on Sister’s casket at the beginning of Mass. The readers were Sister Robin Lynne Evans, O.P., Sister Claire Descoteux, O.P., prayer of the faithful was read by Sister Therese Demers, O.P. Members of Sister’s family, Joyce Boynton, Kerry Kenney and Vella Condon brought the offertory gifts to the altar. Also in attendence at church were fellow Dominican Sisters. Sister Monique Belanger, O.P., shared words of remembrance of Sister Timothy at the conclusion of the Mass. After committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Dominican Sister’s then paid final tribute to Sister Timothy by each blessing her with holy water before her burial. Then all in attendence were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant, Lewiston.
