Singer/songwriter Dave Mallett will bring his gentle, tuneful folk music filled with intelligence and heart to Deertrees Theatre in Harrison Saturday, Aug. 2. His songs have received international acclaim, and one of them, “Garden Song,” has been translated into several languages and stands apart as one of America’s most popular folk anthems. The inspiration for his music is life in a small town in rural Maine. “I like to keep reaching out to touch the past, to connect it with what’s going on now. To me music is one of the few things that is timeless … human emotion is one continual chain,” said Mallett. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets, $20, may be purchased by calling 583-6747; online at www.deertreestheatre.org; and at the Cool Moose in Bridgton, the Country Sleigh in Naples, the Fare Share Co-op in Norway and Books N Things in Bethel.
