Lewiston – Cecile L. Buck, 88, formerly of Weld and Turner, died Friday night, August 1, at Montello Manor where she had resided since October 2005.
She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Lewiston, a daughter of Gedeon and Lucia (Fortier) Boisvert. She attended local schools. She worked at Lown Shoe Shop in Auburn. She later worked in South Portland and in her later years at Bass Shoe in Wilton as a fancy stitcher.
She married Albert Buck on June 26, 1941. They lived in Cape Elizabeth, then moved to Weld to take care of her husband’s parents and his aunt Flo. Her husband died in 1986.
Cecile enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by a brother, Romeo Boisvert and his wife, Angie, of Lewiston, a sister, Theresa and her husband, Norman Marquis, of Turner, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. …. She will be missed by all.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Irene Ouellette, and two brothers, Roger and Rosaire Boisvert.
The family would like to say thank you to the staff at Montello Manor for the very good care they gave Cecile and also to the Androscoggin Hospice Care and Voluntary workers for the care and support they gave.
