Kids turn out for their talent show

GREENE – The fourth annual Kids Talent Show took place at the Androscoggin Grange Hall, Main Street, recently with its biggest turnout yet.

The show was started in 2005 by Cindy Morin to raise money to support the Dictionary Project, which provides a dictionary for every third-grader in the nation.

Morin, as a member of the Androscoggin Grange 8, wanted to help and the first year they raised enough to purchase dictionaries for Greene Central, Turner Primary and Leeds Central schools.

Word spread and kids wanted to help other kids. “It was so amazing to see such young people wanting to make a difference for others,” said Morin.

Ages of the performers ranged from 22 months to 12 this year. Ages up to 18 are welcome. Enough money was raised to support the project, with money left over to put aside for a sound system for the show. Anyone who would like to donate may make checks payable to Androscoggin Grange 8.

Cast members were Travis Morin, Nathan and Ashlee Robert, Campbell Mowry, DAndre and Aaliyah Daniels, Chloe Bolduc, Kegan LeBourdais, Justin Hall, Kaylin Jasmin and Justin Le, Alec and Jacob Dupuis, Bree Bergeron, Ridge and Makaela Field, Hannah Trottier Braun, Jared Farrar, Tania Bureau, Nichole Opoku and Brandi Lavigne.

Stage hands were Carol Buzzell and Jenn Hare; ticket-taker, Karen Flagg; music, Dustin Harris.
