Portland – Short while ago in the land of Waterville, Maine, a princess was born to Brian and Melissa Hurley on Aug. 15, 2000, a gift her parents thought would never be fulfilled.
Firstborn of three children, Savannah, also affectionately known by her dad as ‘Peanut,’ has left the keys of the kingdom to her younger sister, Kiara Aytlana, and brother, Laird Tyler Donovan, whom will carry on in her reign under their parents.
Savannah Bryanne caused smiles on the faces of all around her. She is known for her love of dance, dress up, reading, school and playing make-believe. A fondness for all thinks pink and princess defined her life as the “Pink Princess.”
Princess Savannah graced us days short of her 8th birthday and her baptism, when she was called to return to Heavenly Father. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her sweet testimony and spirit touched the lives of many, her large family, classmates, dance students, church friends, doctors, nurses and total strangers. But most especially, she lightened the burdens of others she met with her compassion. Her life was a shining example of how to endure trials with grace, dignity, and gratitude.
Ultimately, she completed her mission on earth and was foreordained to a greater cause. Her final days were spent with family and friends at the Barbara Bush Childrens’ Hospital, where she granted us her final smile in peace on Aug. 1st.
The Pink Princess is survived in her royal court by her parents and siblings; her Papa and B’Nana, Laird and Sue Stinson of Fairfield; Papa Jon and Nanny, Jon and Didi Rollins of Kingfield; and Grammy, Maureen Hurley of Winslow; and predeceased by her grandfather, “Bob” Hurley, of Ventura, Calif. Fellow royal members include great grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
