Dear Sun Spots: Once again I am asking for your help. We are looking for the webbing for outdoor aluminum chairs. We have tried Sharlaine’s, Marden’s and other places in the Lewiston-Auburn area and have had no luck. Thanks for your help. – Joanne, Turner.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, contact the Chair Doctor, located on Poplar Hill Road off Route 4 in Turner at 225-2293. They will be able to fix your chair and perhaps could help you locate the webbing.

Dear Sun Spots: This is for No Name, No Town in July 27’s edition of your column. I too am a larger lady who has had trouble finding bras to fit comfortably. I have had great success recently with Just My Size. They may be reached at 1-800-261-5902 to request a catalog or to help you out in your search. Hope it helps. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: The Wisdom Center closed its doors for good June 20. The center was a place for women who needed a place to go when there was none. Those who slipped through the cracks of the system especially found a safe place to seek help and support. The Wisdom Center offered different programs and support groups. The first year, 98 women came through the door. By last year, there were 5,153 visits in total, serving more than 1,000 individual women.

I’m part of a committee which has devoted themselves to reopen the center under a new name, and be run by some of the same people who were part of the Wisdom Center when it was open.

The new name is Center for Wisdom’s Women (“Helping Women Working Wonders”). We need at least $6,000 a month to reopen, and are appealing to the public for help. Please send donations to: Trinity/Wisdom’s Women, P.O. Box 1016, Lewiston, ME 04240. Questions? Contact Klara Tammany at ktammany@megalink.net or http://www.wisdomswomen.org/Home.html

Thank you for your support. – Noella Cote, former volunteer at the Wisdom Center.

Dear Sun Spots: Does Poland Spring Water Co. recycle the plastic rings from water bottles? The rings are clear plastic and connected, so the bottles will be connected in six packs. If Poland Spring accepts the responsibility of taking care of the used plastic rings, where would I bring the rings?

I would also like to know what companies would like to re-use my packing items, such as bubble wrap, foam sheets and clear plastic “pillows.” – A Recycler, No Town.

Answer: According to a Poland Spring Consumer Response representative, the clear plastic wrap, including the plastic rings that hold the bottles together, are a recyclable No. 4 plastic. They do not offer recycling services and suggest contacting your local town office for a listing of recycling centers in your area.

Dear Sun Spots: This fall Montello Commons in Lewiston will be celebrating Assisted Living Week from Sept. 7 through 13. Our theme will be Fair days at Montello. We would like to have a petting zoo in our backyard for a few hours. I am hoping that one or more of you readers could donate some of your time to bring a few baby animals…calves, goats, ducks, chicks or other small farm animals to our facility so that our residents can experience an old-fashioned country fair. Please contact Mary Lou Dow at Montello Commons 783-2039 if you can help us with this fun activity. Thank you. – Mary Lou Dow, activity director, Montello Commons.
