PORTLAND – Robert L. Gogan, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Maine Medical Center, Portland. Formerly of Rumford and Rangeley Lakes, he had resided in Wells for many years.

Bob was born in Mexico on April 25, 1921, a son of Telix and Florence (Wills) Gogan and attended local schools.

He worked as a bank teller for Maine National Bank in Rumford for many years, until retirement. He was married in Rumford on July 5, 1953 to the former Letha Taylor, who died in Portland on Feb. 23, 1991.

Survivors include his niece, Mary Ellen Taylor Scribner and husband, David, of South Portland; and nephews, Jerry Gogan and wife, Jacqueline, of Farmington and Allan Gogan of Canton.
