Lewiston – Wilfred A. Lauze, 103, of Montello Manor nursing facility and formerly of Montello Heights Living Center and of 11 Atwood St., Auburn, died Sunday, Aug. 3. He had been a patient at Montello Manor for the past several months.

Born in Chisholm, on July 28, 1905, he was a son of the late Delphis and Marie Dube Lauze. He was educated in Chisholm schools.

He was married to Liane Cayer in 1927; she died Nov. 1, 1936. In 1942, he married Yvonne Octavie Cayer, who died March 2, 1951. He worked at the Commodore Hotel for 19 years, at Pepperell Mfg. Co. until 1959. He then worked at Lombard Shoe Company in Auburn from which he retired in 1970.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and a communicant at Sacred Heart Church. He belonged to the Golden Age Club, the First Auburn Senior Citizens, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Cecile H. Belanger of Lewiston; they were married on July 5, 1954.

He is also survived by a son, Wilfred L. Lauze Jr., and his wife, Grace, of Houston, Tex.; his niece and caregiver, Jacqueline Sherburne and her husband, Norman, of Lewiston; his brothers, Armand Lauze of Lewiston and Laurier Lauze and his wife, Raymonde, of Tennessee; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Laurette Pomerleau and Jeannette Lepage and his brothers Robert, Lucien, and Lorenzo Lauze. The family thanks Montello Heights Living Center and Montello Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care given to Mr. Lauze and his family.
