Between Wednesday, July 23, at 7 a.m. and Monday, Aug. 4, at 7 a.m. this department has responded to 1,412 calls for service. Of those calls, 415 of them were motor vehicle stops.

Criminal Mischief

The Steel Service Center on Bates Street was tagged overnight July 28-29.

A vehicle parked at the Oak Street parking garage was tagged with graffiti overnight July 27-28.

A vehicle parked at 10 Frye St. had a window smashed out of it overnight July 28-29.

A vehicle parked at 102 Campus Ave. had damage done it in an apparent attempted burglary. This occurred between 6:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on July 26.

An excavator parked at 670 Old Greene Road had windows broken out of it overnight July 27-28.

A vehicle parked at 86 Horton St. was keyed prior to 5 p.m. on July 31.

A vehicle parked at 295 Bates St. had a window smashed out it overnight July 28-29.

A vehicle parked at 313 Bates St. was scratched on July 25 at 11:30 a.m. The suspect was a young black male.

The Jean Jacques Construction Co. at 23 Libby Ave. had the building and trailers tagged with graffiti over the weekend Aug. 1-4.

Thefts

A Cannon digital camera was stolen from 112 College St. after a party on July 28.

An 8×5 utility trailer was stolen from 647 Main St. over the weekend July 25-27.

A bicycle was stolen from the rear porch of 68 Wood St. overnight July 28-29. It was described as a green 15 speed Roadmaster women’s bike.

Several packages delivered to Chase Hall by the USPS were stolen between Juyly 20-22.

Several detour signs and stands were stolen from Strawberry Avenue, Tall Pines Drive and Main Street between 1 and 10 p.m. on July 28.

A vehicle stolen out of Westbrook on July 27 was recovered at 124 Campus Ave. on July 28 at 4:02 p.m. The vehicle was a blue 1997 Mercury Sable from Conley Enterprises.

A bicycle was stolen from 34 Nichols St. between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on July 27. It was described as a black 20″ freestyle bike with a Monster Energy drink sticker on it.

ME MC reg 430FS was stolen from a motorcycle parked at 1 Highland Ave. overnight July 28-29.

A resident of 111 Golder Road reports that a 500 lb. cast iron boiler was stolen from his property overnight July 25-26.

A vehicle parked behind the Pleasant St. Beano had a trailer hitch stolen off from it prior to 4 p.m. on July 28.

A resident of 12 River St. interrupted an attempted theft of a BBQ grill from his rear yard on July 25 at 9:51 p.m. The suspects fled in a vehicle which had been taken without permission from in front of 46 River St.

MV Burglary

A Craftsman socket set was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Travel Inn overnight July 25-26. The vehicle was unlocked.

A vehicle parked at 210 Randall Road was burglarized between 11 p.m. on Aug. 2 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 3. A cell phone was taken from inside.

Burglaries

An apartment at 53 Lowell St. had damage done to an entry door in an apparent attempt to pry the lock. This occurred prior to 11 p.m. on July 28.

An apartment at 24 Ware St. was burglarized on July 26 prior to 8:30 p.m. An Xbox was taken from inside, the door had been left unlocked.

A resident of Tanglewood Apartments reports she had prescription meds and cash stolen from an apartment sometime in the two weeks preceding July 25. There were no visible signs of forced entry.

The rear door to Bill Davis Tobacconists was kicked in overnight July 30-31. Numerous packages of cigars, water pipes and rolling papers were stolen.

The Mexico Tipico restaurant was burglarized between 2 and 7:30 a.m. on July 27. The rear door to the building was forced open; a bottle of liquor was stolen from inside.

An apartment at 73 Howard St. was burglarized between 5 p.m. on July 26 and 8 a.m. on July 27. The entry door had been kicked in, damage was done to property and some food was stolen.

Damage was done to 100 Pine St. in an apparent attempt to gain entry sometime overnight July 30-31. Pry marks were found around the windows and the screens were removed.

Motor Vehicle Theft

A vehicle parked in the driveway of 92 Pine St. was stolen overnight July 27-28. It was left unlocked and did not need keys to start it. The vehicle was found the next morning in the driveway of 117 Pierce St.

Robbery

Officers responded to 92 Bartlett St. on July 30 at 6:33 p.m. for a report that Travis Johnson had been robbed at knifepoint at Pine and Bartlett streets of $30 cash. He describes the suspect as a black male, 6’/200 lbs, with a shaved head and dark skin wearing a T-shirt and shorts.

Shooting

Officers responded to 47 Spruce St. on Aug. 3 at 12:38 a.m. for a report that an apartment window had just been shot out. Upon arrival, they discovered that a .32 caliber bullet had penetrated two window panes and had entered the apartment. Neighbors report having heard three distinct shots at the same time from the Knox Street area.

Operating Under the Influence Arrests

Thomas Kerrigan, 40, was charged with operating under the influence on July 25 at 9:03 p.m. at Bartlett Street and Cumberland Avenue following a routine traffic stop.

Adam Parker, 22, was charged with operating under the influence and operating with an expired license on July 26 at 1:01 a.m.at the Longley Bridge following an OUI roadblock.

Jean Gorey, 50, was charged with operating under the influence on July 26 at 12:32 a.m. at the Longley Bridge following an OUI roadblock.

Ramiro Flores, 41, was charged with operating under the influence on July 28 at 12:22 a.m. at 20 East Ave. following a routine traffic stop.

Ryan Letourneau, 23, was charged with operating under the influence on July 27 at 2:15 a.m. at Webster and Ash streets following a routine traffic stop.

Courtney Turnell, 21, was charged with operating under the influence on July 1 at 1:45 a.m. at College and Davis streets following a routine traffic stop.
