LIVERMORE FALLS – Police were hot on the trail of a juvenile burglary suspect Wednesday after a break-in at the American Legion Post 10 on Reynolds Avenue was discovered earlier that morning.
Lt. Thomas Gould said police received a report of the burglary at 8:50 a.m.
A side door had been pried open and entry was made into several locked rooms, he said.
A small amount of alcohol and a large amount of Pepsi were missing along with a mini-refrigerator, Gould said.
He conducted some interviews and recovered the mini-fridge and about 25 percent of the soda from a home on nearby Knapp Street, he said.
“I conducted probably a half-dozen interviews and we do have a juvenile male suspect I’m searching for,” Gould said.
It is believed the burglary occurred over the weekend after the hall was closed Saturday evening following an event there.
The suspect faces burglary and theft charges.
A Post 10 executive officer, Don Simoneau of Fayette, had stopped by the hall Wednesday morning and discovered the break. He found the place had been burglarized and the soda on hand for bingo players was gone.
Simoneau said the locks to the hall were being changed.
