Lewiston – Richard (Dick) R. Rioux, 63, of Old Greene Road, died Monday, Aug. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 5, 1945, a son to the late Herve and Irene (Levasseur) Rioux.

He was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Dom’s High School in 1963. After school he joined the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in the Vietnam War. He stayed in the Air Force for 22 years, then went on to work for the Brunswick Naval Air Base as a civilian until he retired in 2007.

Dick was a member of Holy Family Church, 20 M Club, Le Nationale Club and the Past Time Club. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Yankees fan. He also enjoyed children and always was willing to take time out of his busy day to play with his nieces and nephews.

He leaves two sisters, Venise Jalbert and her husband, Claude, of Connecticut, and Diane Delcourt and her husband, Marc, of Wesley; a sister-in-law, Connie Rioux of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Denise Corts and her husband, Rob, of Ohio, and their two children, Emma and Robby; nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Steve, Brenda, John, Mathew, Andrew and Musket; and great nieces and nephews, Mark, Eric, Ian, Zachary, Gregory and Aubry.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Bob) Riuox.
