Dear Sun Spots: The number to get a claim form for animals that we have lost due to kidney failure is wrong. Please check it out. Thanks – C. Allen, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots thanks you for catching the error. The Pet Food Products Liability Settlement Web site was recently updated and the correct phone number to contact the Claims Administrator is 1-800-392-7785.

Dear Sun Spots: I’ve noticed that people have been selling their Beanie Babies, but I have a collection of cute little furry animals called Puffkins that I would like to sell, very reasonable. I may be reached at 782-8314. Thank you. – Polly, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I am planning two fundraisers for one purpose: we are raising funds to purchase a dog for my nephew Jason. He is diagnosed with Asberger’s Syndrome (a form of autism). The funds will be donated to the North Star Foundation (www.northstardogs.com) on Jason’s behalf. We are holding a yard sale at 343 Middle Road in Sabattus on Friday, August 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, August 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. North Star Foundation is a non profit organization and a 501C corp.

We are also holding a fundraiser lasagna dinner on Saturday, Aug. 9 at Rolly’s Diner located at 87 Mill St. in Auburn from 5-7 p.m. The requested donation is $10 per person. There will be raffles and prizes. Contact information: cat.blais@yahoo.com, 713-6401 or Deane at 353-9321. Thank you. – Cathy Blais, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: You do a wonderful job locating things for people. Perhaps you can help me locate where I can purchase a coffee maker that attaches to your kitchen cupboards. Have looked in many stores but have been unable to find one. Keep up the good work. – Betty, Norway.

Answer: We have located a Black & Decker Spacemaker 12-cup Under-The-Counter Coffee Maker at Kohl’s in Auburn. When we checked, there was only one available, but they will be getting more at some point. We suggest calling the store to check on the stock, 777-1434. Hours are Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can also order them through Wal-Mart, if there is none available in the store.

Dear Sun Spots: In answer to the request for Bennett genealogy I would suggest that a good place to start would be the town records of Bethel as well as the library there, also the Bethel Historical Society may have some information. From the record it appears that Mary was not listed as a child of Harvey G. Bennett and his wife (Sarah?) Amey.

From my earliest beginnings in genealogy I learned that all people with the same surname are related in some way, it is just a matter of making a connection to a common ancestor. There are lots of Bennetts listed in the phone directory in Oxford County, most likely all are related, just perhaps one of them has the family genealogy.

Craig Bryant has a rather nice Web site with lots of genealogy of various families including the Bennett line, if the author of the request has access to a computer it is easy to find. – Everett F. Ayer, genealogist, Sumner.

Dear Sun Spots: Calling all classmates, the practical nurse graduating class of 1983 at CMVTI (now CMCC), is planning a 25th year luncheon. If you are a member of the class and are interested please contact either Connie at RCM12@verizon.net or Joan at mzgray@ roadrunner.com. We are considering the first part of October for this event. Thank you. – Joan Gray, No Town.
