LEWISTON – Earl G. Leet, 77, of Gould Road in Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
He was born April 18, 1931, in Bath, a son of Roy and Hazel Leet. He was raised and attended schools in the Richmond area.
Mr. Leet served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. Following his service to the country, he met and married Lillian Ridley in 1953 and together they raised two sons.
He was employed as superintendent at the Lisbon Water District and had also worked at Bath Iron Works and U.S. Gypsum.
Mr. Leet was an active member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 66 Lisbon Falls and was also active with Frontier Days. He had also worked for a time doing painting and wallpapering in the Lisbon area and had served many of the families in town with their household needs.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lillian (Ridley) Leet of Lisbon Falls; two sons, Gregory E. Leet of Lisbon Falls, and Gary D. Leet of Lisbon Falls; two sisters, Athlena Nelson of Ludlow, Vt., and Ruth Ridley of Litchfield; a brother, Gary Leet of Winthrop; four grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, David Gunnells, Christopher and his wife, Jessica LaValley, Laura LaChance and Logan Leet; four great-grandchildren, Andrea and Rayanna Gunnells, and Christopher and Kaiden LaValley; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Wayne, Roger and Richard Leet.
