LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Joseph Roger and Nadette Landry of Lewiston, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The party was celebrated on the exact day, 50 years later, by their children. The anniversary cake was a replica of the original wedding cake, which also included the original topper. The centerpiece at the head table and corsages included stephanotis, which was in the original bridal bouquet. A “50 Years Together” DVD slide show was presented by Doris Landry. Toastmaster was Daniel Landry.

Mr. Landry and the former Nadette Dufresne were married July 12, 1958, at Holy Family Church. They have five children, Diane Cardello and husband, Chris, Denise Arena and husband, Paul, and Daniel Landry, all of Rome, N.Y., Doris Landry of Lewiston, and Donald Landry of Jacksonville, Fla. Their 10 grandchildren are Renee, Curtis, Michael, Gauvin, Danielle, Joseph, Stephen, Matthew L., Nicole and Matthew C., all of Rome, N.Y.

Mr. Landry is retired after 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, and then retired from White Rock Distilleries after 13 years.

Original wedding attendants present were Connie Gendron, Leo Landry, Maurice Landry, Connie Dumais, Raymond Lavoie and Lorraine Dion.
