HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Hartford police say their officers are on the scene of shootings in an area where crowds had gathered at the end of an annual West Indian pride parade.

Police say at least three people were reported to be wounded. However, they received conflicting reports of the number of people shot and the severity of the injuries.

Officers remained at the scene Saturday in the city’s North End, where the Greater Hartford West Indian parade and festival was occurring when the shootings were reported.

WVIT-Channel 30 also reported that a police helicopter was called in to search for suspects.
