Band concert

BETHEL – The Mahoosuc Community Band will have its end-of-the-summer concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the West Parish Congregational Church. The Community Band plays familiar favorites.

Under the direction of Patricia Boyle-Wight, the band rehearses Monday nights in the basement of the West Parish Congregational Church. All abilities of music players are welcome to rehearse.

The group will take a few weeks off after this concert and will resume rehearsals Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. For more information about the band, contact president Brian Dunham at 665- 2967 or [email protected].

The music Monday night will be a combination of older favorites and newer pieces.

Indoor yard sale

WATERFORD – An indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Wilkins Community House Basement at the foot of Plummer Hill Road.

There will be basement bargains, including household items, books, toys and games, crafts and “what-nots.” All will proceeds benefit the church and the Wilkins House improvement fund. For more information, call Karen at 583-2320.
