This has been a busy week for holes-in-one. Three local courses produced four gems in recent action.

Don O’Malley achieved his ace at Fairlawn Golf Course in Poland. O’Malley used a 5-iron on the 183-yard eighth hole. Steve Scotia, Bill Churchill and Armand Lachance witnessed the feat.

The Meadows Golf Club in Litchfield produced two pinpoint shots.

Dale Dawson of Gardiner aced the par-3 fifth hole on Wednesday, covering the 190 yards with a 3-wood. Jeff Gilman was Dawson’s playing partner.

On Thursday, Jim Hagan recorded a hole-in-one on the par-3, 155-yard third hole. Hagan wielded a 5-wood. Don Hyde, Matthew Hagan and Ryan Hagan looked on.

Apple Valley Golf Course in Lewiston was home to a hole-in-one Monday by veteran Maine sportswriter Paul Betit of Topsham. It was the first ace of Betit’s playing career. He used a 9-iron on the 108-yard fifth hole. Al Fares of Lisbon and Bruce Milliken of Lewiston watched the scene.
