SACO (AP) – Saco police say a man’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office after being pulled from the Saco River.

Sgt. David Loranger says a boater came across the body at about 9 a.m. Friday midway between the downtown area and where the river flows into the ocean.

Loranger says the man has been tentatively identified through items found in his pockets, but that his name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of relatives.

He says the body appeared to have been in the water for a few days but no definite timeline has been released.
