NORWAY – Norway Youth Soccer registration forms are now available at the Norway Town Office and www.norwaymaine.com.

The Norway Parks & Recreation Department will conduct the Kindergarten Soccer Program. Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters will run the grade 1-6 Soccer Program.

Norway Parks & Recreation Department Kindergarten Program will take place at the baseball field located behind the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School on Saturdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20, and 27, from 8 to 8:45 a.m.

The registration fee is $25. Participants will receive a T-shirt and soccer ball.

Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters will run the Grade 1-6 Program at Gouin Complex. The registration fee is $25 per child with a $45 maximum per family.

The maximum does not include the Kindergarten Program. Games will start on Saturday, Sept. 6th.

Parents will receive a telephone call by August 26 for detailed information on practices and games for their child’s team.

A special registration time has been set for Tuesday, August 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Norway Town Office.

Lewiston Ice Dawgs tryouts announced

LEWISTON – The 2008-09 Lewiston Ice Dawgs middle school hockey team invites any player that attends Lewiston, Trinity or Sabattus schools to its tryout Sunday, Sept. 7. Time will be announced. Players must be entering grades 5 to 8 this fall. The season runs from November to March. Please call or e-mail to preregister. Rumford Eagles horseshoe tourney

RUMFORD – The fourth-annual Eagles Fall Classic horseshoe tournament will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Hosmer Field. There is a $10 entry fee. There will be a 50/50 and door prizes. The tournament is sponsored by F.O.E. 1248. FMI, call Mark at 364-4036.

Men’s softball to benefit traveling local team

LISBON – There will be a men’s softball tournament Saturday, Sept. 6 at Pinewoods Fields. Entry of $125 will benefit the Gridiron/Danny’s Landscaping team in the national tournament in Orlando. FMI, contact Steve Curtis at 713-7851.
