NEW YORK (AP) – The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for New York City Friday evening, but the storm appeared to pass without generating a tornado. Harlem and Hudson trains were off line for just under an hour, due to high water in some areas and trees on the tracks. Service on both lines resumed at about 7 p.m. Friday, with residual delays of 30 minutes on the Hudson and New Haven lines and 45 minutes on the Harlem line.

Weather-related signal problems on the LIRR’s Port Washington branch resulted in 30 minute delays in both directions.
