CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Bail has been set at $1 million for a Concord, N.H., nail salon owner charged with raping and kidnapping a female customer.

Thirty-nine-year-old Hai Phuoc Tran is accused of raping a 22-year-old customer Tuesday evening after she arrived at Queen Nails for an appointment.

Prosecutor Tracy Connolly says the woman was allegedly raped while she washed her hands. They were allegedly in the salon alone.

If he posts bail, Tran is prohibited from seeing female customers without supervision.

Connolly says authorities are trying to determine whether Tran, who was born Vietnam, is in the country legally.

Police say the woman was treated at Concord Hospital and released.
