AUBURN – Robert A. Wallace, 64, died after a long illness on Saturday, Aug. 16, with his family by his side.

Born in Portland on April 12, 1944, he was the son of Cecil and Marjorie (Lunt) Wallace and he attended schools in both Falmouth and Gray.

On April 27, 1968, he married Jacquelyn Bowie. They raised three daughters and enjoyed spending time at camp and times with family and friends.

Bob retired in 2004 from his job, operator of his own excavation business. Prior to running his own business, he worked for the town of Gray for more than 20 years. Bob always enjoyed his Sunday morning “prayer meeting” with his buddies, visiting with grandchildren, and John Deere tractors.

Bob is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Jacquelyn; three daughters, Wendy Verrill and husband Ernie, and their children Cody and Ryan of Gray, Becky MacDonald and husband Shane, and their children Alison, Jessica, and Kate of New Gloucester, and Susan Begin and husband Wil, and their children Emma and Grace of New Gloucester; three sisters, Judy Hall and husband Luke, Beth Lowell, and Carol Emmons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Dana Wallace.
