SANDISFIELD, Mass. (AP) – Authorities say three people killed in a collision in the small western Massachusetts town of Sandisfield were all Connecticut residents.

Massachusetts state police say they are 33-year-old Derek Martinez of Waterbury, and two Thomaston residents identified as 64-year-old Robert Bailey and 67-year-old Gerald Williams.

Another Connecticut resident, 43-year-old Douglas Taylor of Southington, was involved in the collision on Friday, but was not injured.

Police say the collision occurred in a rural area of Route 8 near the Colebrook Reservoir’s entrance. They say Martinez’s Chevrolet Blazer crossed the center line, sideswiped another car and crashed head-on into the truck carrying Bailey and Williams.

The collision is under investigation.
