DURHAM – Only seven residents, including Town Clerk Shannon Plourde, showed up for a special town meeting Monday night, wrapping it up in six minutes.
Voting 7-0, residents approved an amendment to the land use ordinance to include municipal and school structures in the rural residential-transitional-Southwest Bend zones and increases the maximum building height from 35 to 50 feet for town buildings.
The change was needed because the peaked roof on the planned new elementary school exceeds the current limit.
The change was endorsed by the Planning Board.
Administrative Assistant Warren Hatch moderated the brief session.
