NORWAY – Fred W. “Honk” Robinson, 88, of South Paris, died Sunday, Aug. 17, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in South Paris on July 14, 1920, the son of Carl and Marguerett Snow Robinson. He attended school in South Paris and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a board sawyer and machine operator, he sharpened saws and knives in area wood mills. He was a life member of the Foster-Carroll American Legion 72 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He belonged to the Norway/Paris Fish and Game Association and the VFW Post 9787 in South Paris. He was an avid fisherman and volunteered many hours at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.

He is survived by his extended family, Greg and Dee Dee Estes of South Paris, and their children, Jill, Karley and Josey; and a distant cousin, John Snow.
