CANTON – Wilma May Stevens, 82, a former resident of Wheeler Street in Livermore Falls, died early Sunday, Aug. 17, at Victorian Villa Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for several years.

She was born July 8, 1926, in Farmington, the daughter of William and Annie May (Seavey) Sanford. She grew up in Industry and graduated from Livermore Falls High School as class salutatorian in 1943. She worked for 10 years in the office of the Record Foundry and Machine Co. in Livermore Falls. In 1949, she married Emerson Stevens, who died in 2004. For many years she was a Sunday school teacher at the Livermore Falls Church of the Nazarene. She loved to read and tell stories.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Annie Stevens SL, of Saint Louis, Mo.
