NORWAY – Maisie E. Murch, 89, of Waterford, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Waterford, Nov. 16, 1918, the daughter of Raymond and Grace Dearborn Millett. She attended Waterford schools. She had worked as a cook at Waterford school and Springer’s Store.
She had been the East Waterford postmistress. She was known for her good cooking and her love of her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, her flower gardens, beano and playing cards. She was a member of the North Waterford Senior Citizens, AARP and the Historical Society. She married James Murch on Nov. 28, 1936.
She is survived by her husband of Waterford; sons, George and his wife, Virginia, of South Paris, Alfred and his wife, Linda and William (Bill) and his wife, DebbyLee, all of Waterford; sisters, Gladys Emery of Mechanic Falls and Eva Barker of Waterford; a brother, Ralph Millett of Waterford; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a son, James R. “Rammie”; and several sisters and brothers, Mildred Murch, Katherine Millett, Nina Bisbee, Vern Millett and Elmer Millett.
